Scott D. Wright is an experienced litigator and is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. Scott has handled all aspects of litigation, including fact investigation, motion practice, depositions, pre-trial and trial matters, and appellate practice.
Scott attended the University of
Missouri-Columbia and graduated cum laude with a degree in
Anthropology and a degree in History. Scott also minored in
Political Science.
Scott attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate as well as a Certificate in Dispute Resolution.
After law school, Scott served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Cass County, Missouri. At the Prosecutor's Office, Scott was a lead litigator. Scott handled all aspects of preparing cases for trial. Scott succefully prosecuted multiple felony trials. In addition to his criminal cases, Scott was assigned to represent the state in civil cases. He argued civil cases at the trial level as well as in front of the Supreme Court of Missouri.
At the University of Central Missouri Police Academy, Scott instructed cadets on Missouri criminal law, ethics and use of force to prepare them for careers in law enforcement.
Scott also owned and operated a law firm in Raymore, Missouri. While in private practice, Scott represented clients in both Missouri and Kansas on a wide variety of legal matters including criminal cases, domestic cases, collection cases, landlord/tenant cases, traffic tickets, and estate planning. Scott worked as a contract public defender for a municipality and also served as a special assistant prosecutor in two Missouri counties.
Scott was born and raised in the Kansas City
area. Recently, Scott and his family relocated to Beloit,
Kansas. In addition to practicing law, Scott stays busy
with his family, hunting and watching
sports.
